Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate

Yeast postbiotic for skin radiance — saccharomyces ferment filtrate (SFF) rich in enzymes, peptides, and β-glucan from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Stimulates cell renewal, evens skin tone, and strengthens the barrier — an analogue of galactomyces from yeast.

What is it?

Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate — liquid fraction after fermentation and filtration of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (baker's/wine yeast). Contains: lipases, proteases, and amylases (enzymes), yeast peptides (including hexapeptide-11), β-glucan, amino acids, and B vitamins. Its action is similar to Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate (GFF), but from a different microbial source. SFF is known in K-beauty and J-beauty as a radiance and texture enhancer.

Essences, boosters, and first serums in Korean rituals. A popular standalone product (yeast essences). Effective in concentrations from 5–80%.

Key Benefits

Even skin tone and radiance enhancement
The enzymatic components of SFF naturally exfoliate the surface of the stratum corneum (protease action) without the aggressive AHA effect. Peptides stimulate the synthesis of melanin-regulating factors. The result is an even tone, reduced dullness, and "glass" radiance associated with K-beauty.
Stimulation of cell renewal through yeast peptides
Hexapeptide-11 and other yeast peptides accelerate keratinocyte proliferation and basal membrane restoration. Accelerating cell turnover improves texture, reduces unevenness, and increases elasticity.
Strengthening the barrier through β-glucan and amino acids
β-Glucan SFF protects Dectin-1 receptors of keratinocytes, enhancing the skin's innate immune defense. Amino acids replenish NMF, moisturizing the stratum corneum. B vitamins support barrier lipid synthesis.

SFF vs Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate

Galactomyces (from Aspergillus mold) — K-beauty standard for pores and tone. Saccharomyces (from yeast) — milder, focusing on radiance and cell renewal. Some formulas contain both for synergy. SK-II Facial Treatment Essence — the most famous product with galactomyces; yeast essences (MISSHA, Skin1004) — with SFF.
