Proline
Unique amino acid of collagen structure — proline makes up ~13% of collagen composition and is a key component of the triple helix structure. Topically hydrates the skin as an NMF amino acid and supports collagen fiber synthesis.
What is it?
Proline (пролін, Pro) — conditionally essential cyclic amino acid. In INCI: Proline. It is one of the main building blocks of collagen (~13%) and elastin. Due to its cyclic structure (pyrrolidine ring), it effectively retains water. It is part of the skin's NMF. Hydroxyproline (modified form) is a marker of collagen metabolism.
NMF moisturizing and conditioning component in serums, creams, and products for mature skin. Often combined with glycine, lysine, and vitamin C in formulas that support the skin's amino acid profile.

Main Actions
Proline is important for collagen structure, but topical application of the amino acid does not equate to proven collagen stimulation. For anti-aging effect, proline is better perceived as support for NMF and formula synergy, while leaving the main work to retinoids, vitamin C, peptides, and SPF.
