Phloretin
Phloretin — a flavonoid from apples that combines powerful antioxidant protection with tone brightening. Known for the SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic serum — in combination with vitamin C and ferulic acid, it provides synergistic protection against photoaging.
What is it?
Phloretin — a natural polyphenol of the dihydrochalcone class found in the bark of apple and pear trees. INCI: Phloretin. MW 274 Da. Lipophilic, penetrates well through the stratum corneum. Brightening mechanism: inhibits GLUT (glucose transporter) in melanocytes, reducing glucose availability for melanin synthesis. Concentration: 0.2–2%.
Antioxidant serums for brightening and protection. Classic combination: Vitamin C + Phloretin + Ferulic Acid (CE Ferulic formula). Effective for correcting pigmentation spots and protecting against photoaging.
