Jojoba Esters
Trans-esterified jojoba esters — a unique form of jojoba wax with modified molecular size and consistency. A silky solid or semi-solid structure with a creamy melting feel on the skin. The base for solid balms, stick deodorants, and eye cream with a luxurious texture.
What is it?
Jojoba Esters are obtained by trans-esterification of liquid jojoba wax — the exchange of ester groups between molecules leads to a modified composition with higher MW and a firmer consistency. INCI: Jojoba Esters. Melting point: 45–75°C depending on the degree of reaction. Skin feel: creamy, melts at body temperature → "kisses" the skin with a melting sensation. Natural (plant) origin — certified by COSMOS and ECOCERT. An alternative to beeswax and palm wax in natural stick formulas.
Solid lip balm, stick formats (deodorant, highlighter, cream stick for face), solid bar oils and bar shampoos. "Luxury" creamy textures in solid cosmetics.
Key Benefits
Suitable for
Main Actions
Beeswax — classic, solid structure, non-smooth texture. Carnauba wax (palm) — very hard, shiny, but stiff. Candelilla wax — firm, suitable for vegans. Jojoba Esters — the softest and creamiest, but more expensive. For vegan creamy balms: jojoba esters + candelilla = perfect combination. The price of jojoba esters is the main limitation for the mass market.
