Hydrolyzed Collagen
Collagen peptides for the skin — hydrolyzed collagen is a broken-down form of collagen with small molecules that can penetrate the stratum corneum and moisturize from within. Unlike native collagen, whose molecule is too large, hydrolyzed peptides actually interact with the skin.
What is it?
Hydrolyzed Collagen — collagen (of animal or fish origin) broken down by enzymes or acid into short polypeptides (MW 1–10 kDa). In INCI: Hydrolyzed Collagen. Marine collagen (from fish) is considered more bioavailable due to its smaller molecular size. It is not a "building material" for skin collagen after topical application — the molecules are too small for direct integration.
Moisturizing, film-forming, and conditioning active in serums, creams, and masks. Especially effective in products for mature and dehydrated skin — where plumping and temporary lifting are important due to the film-forming effect.

Main Actions
Applying hydrolyzed collagen to the skin does not restore dermal collagen as injections or oral supplements do. The effect is hydration, plumping, and a protective film. For a real anti-age effect, retinoids, stimulating peptides, or procedures are needed.
