Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate
Soothing active from licorice root — dipotassium glycyrrhizate is the potassium salt of glycyrrhizic acid with pronounced anti-inflammatory and anti-redness effects. One of the most effective natural soothing components in cosmetics for sensitive skin.
What is it?
Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate — potassium salt of glycyrrhizic acid (triterpene saponin from the root of Glycyrrhiza glabra). In INCI: Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate. The water-soluble form is better for aqueous formulations than licorice root extract. It inhibits the activity of 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase — a mechanism similar to the cortisone-like effect, but without hormonal side effects.
Anti-inflammatory and soothing active in toners, serums, and creams for sensitive, reactive, and rosacea-prone skin. Often used in post-procedure products and products for atopic skin.
