Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate
DHHB (Uvinul A Plus) — the most effective UVA filter with the widest absorption spectrum available in Europe. Photostable, stabilizes avobenzone and other unstable filters. A key ingredient in premium sunscreens for complete UVA protection.
What is it?
DHHB — an oil-soluble UVA filter with a peak absorption at ~354 nm and broad coverage of UVA I (340–400 nm) and partially UVA II (320–340 nm). Maximum concentration in the EU: 10%. Photostable — does not decompose under UV irradiation. Not FDA approved. Often used in combination with ethylhexyl triazone (UVB) for complete broad-spectrum protection without additional filters.
Premium sunscreens in the EU and Asian markets with maximum UVA protection (PPD, PA+++). Especially important for products with an anti-aging and anti-pigmentation focus.

Main Actions
SPF measures protection from UVB (sunburn). UVA does not cause burns but penetrates deeper and is the main cause of photoaging, pigmentation, and skin cancer. In the EU, UVA protection must be at least 1/3 of SPF (PPD ≥ SPF/3). In Korea — PA+++ or PA++++. Sunscreens with DHHB + ethylhexyl triazone provide one of the best combinations in cosmetics without American compromises.
