Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
Light carrier oil from coconut oil — caprylic/capric triglyceride is an ideal base for oil-based products and serums. Non-comedogenic, absorbs well, and does not leave a greasy feeling — hence its widespread use in premium cosmetics.
What is it?
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (CCT) — a mixture of triglycerides of caprylic (C8) and capric (C10) acids, obtained by fractionating coconut or palm kernel oil. In INCI: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride. Unlike unrefined coconut oil — it does not contain lauric acid, making it significantly less comedogenic and with a lighter texture.
Base oil in oil-serum, dry oil, facial oil, and the oil phase of creams and sunscreens. Acts as a carrier oil for fat-soluble actives (retinol, vitamin E, essential oils) and provides formulas with a light dry-touch feel.
